Use the mouse cursor to point in the direction you want to go.
Use W or Space to launch forward in a short burst of energy.
You can hold down W or Space to move a bit faster than just pressing it once.
If you are holding any trash you will bounce into animals, and drop your trash. On the other hand if you aren't holding any trash you will be able to pass right by them.
You can only hold 5 pieces of trash at a time. So make sure to get rid of your trash once you are full.
